Supported controllers.

Coda handles the full input pipeline for you — from connecting the controller to emitting a clean virtual controller the game reads. Here's what's currently supported and where each path stands.
Sony DualSense (PS5)
First-party support since day one. Adaptive triggers, touchpad, lightbar — everything mapped.
Sony DualShock 4 (PS4)
First-party support since day one. Touchpad, gyro, all the standard controls.
Third-party PS4 / PS5 controllers
Xbox Controllers
Coda connects Xbox pads and emits a clean virtual controller — same as for PlayStation. But there's one important limitation: we can't hide the physical Xbox controller from the game.
On PlayStation, Coda uses HidHide to make the physical pad invisible, so the game only sees Coda's virtual output. Xbox pads can't be hidden the same way — so the game sees both your physical Xbox controller and Coda's virtual output at the same time.
Most games handle this fine and just read the virtual one — everything works. Some games get confused by two connected controllers and don't respond as expected. It's a per-game thing on the game side, not something Coda can force from our end.
If a game misbehaves with your Xbox controller, reach out on the Coda Discord or email [email protected]. We track which titles handle this well and which don't.
A note on the output side
Regardless of which controller you plug in, Coda always outputs as a virtual PlayStation or Xbox controller via ViGEmBus. The output side — what games actually see — is rock-solid across all modes. The status flags above apply only to the input path (reading from your physical controller), never to what games see.
Have a controller you'd like tested or supported? Ask on the Coda Discord or email [email protected]. We read everything.
